Team Colorado arrived safely back in Colorado yesterday!  What a wonderful week we all had at National Games!  Thanks to everyone who followed us along the way!

As if our week wasn't perfect enough already our last athletes to compete kept up the fire!! Jeremy R. won 4 gold medals for powerlifting!!!! Vince wins gold for singles bowling and Steve wins 6th for singles bowling!!!

Abby, Nathan and Conor continue to amaze us on the court!  They have all done a great job this week!  Nathan is so fun to watch as he smashes the ball!  Conor's serves are amazing!  and Abby has improved so much it is impossible to imagine!!!  Medal Count for Tennis:  Nathan: Singles - GOLD, Conor: Singles - BRONZE, Men's Doubles - SILVER!!  Abigail - Individual Skills - BRONZE!!!  TENNIS ROCKS!

Day 3 of Competition proved to be another GREAT one for Team Colorado!  Our medal count keeps growing...so much that it is hard to keep track of it all.... here are the total counts and where they come from up to this point!

We are so proud of our athletics ladies who threw the shot put to victory!! Alex wins fifth place and Aimee wins the gold!! Wonderful job by both ladies!!

Bowlers make Colorado proud

Female bowler Jenny wins fourth place and Patricia wins the gold in singles competition!!! Way to go ladies!!!!!!

Aquatics Update from Mai-Lin!!!

so  far we arrived in Lincoln Nebraska on Saturday Evening around 6:30pm. Settled into our dorms and had dinner. Sunday I had a morning practice and then we had our opening Ceremonies which was a blast. Monday I had my 100 backstroke prelims and my 100 IM medley relay. Tuesday I had my 200 free style. Wednsday I have my 100backstroke finals and IM Medley relay those are for medals..I have my 400 free style and 200 free style for finals. I just been meeting a lot of states and trading pins with other people from other states. Thanks for tyrin to keep up with me awhile I have been competting and doing other fun activities  in Lincoln Nebraska. We do a lot of walking around the campus and the weather has been very hot!!!!

Day 2

Day two of competition proved to be another successful one for Team Colorado!  Swimmers finished strong in their preliminary competitions - each one taking second off their times!!  Tomorrow the finals will start in the afternoon and they are sure to bring home top awards!

We have arrived!

Team Colorado arrived in Lincoln earlier tonight to start their National Games experience!!!  We are all so excited to be here!!!  Tomorrow everyone will see their venues and then on to Opening Ceremonies!  CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Lincoln....here we come!

The bus is loaded and on its way to Lincoln Nebraska!!  The town and campus are ready for us!


Tonight when they arrive we will have our first team dinner!  And then tomorrow all the action starts!  Groups will head to their sport specific venues in the morning and then OPENING CEREMONIES at 3pm!  You can watch it streamed live at www.2010specialolympics.org (2pm Colorado time)!!
